If you are travelling to Edinburgh for a short break there are now more flights than ever and you can easily pick up a cheap Edinburgh flight with one of the low cost Edinburgh airlines. Edinburgh is one of the top city destinations in the UK and Europe and is especially busy during the world famous Edinburgh International Festival and the Edinburgh Military Tattoo, which take place during August. Edinburgh is also famous for its New Year celebrations with the spectacular fireworks displays over Edinburgh Castle.

If you are travelling on a flight to Edinburgh there are a few options available to you to get to and from the airport to the centre of Edinburgh. When you arrive at the airport you will be directed to immigration and then trough to the baggage reclaim section. Once you have collected your luggage you will then proceed through customs and then you need to workout how you are getting to your final destination. There are a few options you can of course simply jump into one of the airport taxis or call for a local taxi whilst you are waiting in the baggage reclaim (this would be the cheaper option of the two.)

Edinburgh Shuttle bus provides a fleet of seven seat mini buses and operate a service to and from the airport every ten to fifteen minutes. The shuttle bus will operate to other destinations apart from the city centre, this includes home addresses or hotels or conference venues.

There is a coach service to and from the airport on the Airlink 100 service. This bus will take you from the airport to Edinburgh city centre or the main train station. The journey takes around twenty five to thirty minutes and operates from around 5 am until midnight.

If you are meeting someone then you could arrange to meet them at one of the airports designated meeting points. Another popular area to meet at is the airport information desk. It is always recommended to get the person collecting you to suggest a suitable collection point as they are more used to the airport than you in most cases. There is a short term car park ideal for people collecting friends and family.
